Hey Ladies!
I wanted to tell you about a great opportunity! Las Olas is offering a full scholarship for one of their Surf Safaris to one “deserving visionary.”
From Las Olas:
What’s your vision of a better future and how will we get there?
We’ve always believed that women are powerful. They have the ability to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles by creating solutions for our families and communities.
Las Olas Surf Safaris for Women is offering a surf safari scholarship to one deserving visionary.
Describe a solution to a challenge we face and you may receive the opportunity of a lifetime~ a Las Olas surf safari in the gentle, tropical waves of Mexico.
The winner will receive full tuition for a seven day/six night Las Olas surf safari, including daily surf and yoga classes, spa treatment, daily breakfast and ground transportation. See Las Olas website for specific safari inclusions. Sounds pretty dreamy to me!
To enter, you simply need to write an essay.
For full details and contest rules, please visit the website.
Good luck!

We’re so excited about our feature in Coastal Living’s May issue. If you’re visiting us after seeing the mention, we want to welcome you and thank you for checking out Surf Mamas.
We are always open to starting new groups for local moms. Just shoot an email to surfmamasinfo[at]gmail[dot]com and we’ll go from there. In the meantime, have a look around our site to find more information about the community.

Hey Surf Mamas,
Just wanted to post up a little explanation for the move. The server where I have SurfMamas.net is run by a site called Ning. I currently pay $4.95 per month for the site (and recoup nothing as of now in the way of advertisement or membership fees). Ning has decided to start charging a minimum of $20/month for communities our size starting in July. For that reason I decided to move to a self-hosted site.
Right now the new website is at SurfMamas.com. Eventually both domains (surfmamas.net and surfmamas.com) will direct to the new site. For now, the old site will remain (until the end of June). I recommend you copy any information (messages, discussion posts, etc), you’d like to keep for reference before then so it’s not lost.
I think this new site format will be much simpler and better-suited to our needs as a community. We will be utilizing Facebook now to organize our groups, so start out by liking our page over on the right hand side of the Surf Mamas website.
I hope you like the new site! I’ve built this myself in my “spare” time and I’m still working out the kinks and figuring out the new system as I go. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
See you on the beach!

Welcome to the relaunched community, Surf Mamas, where moms swap surfing for beach babysitting.
Aloha!
